How did your life change after the success of “Troppo bella” and when did you start your way to the world of singing music? Was it a passionate or casual choice? How much does the lyrics of a song count for you?

One of the songs I loved about your artistic journey is “ Ask what you want”. I quote some of your stanzas: “To make castles in the air and to dream” [Let me leave me\ Draw my life together with you”. If I went back, how would you “draw your life” along with music?

Marinis: I’m very tied to Ask what you want; it reminds me of San Remo, I usually have and I don’t regret... Boh are complex... however my life I’ve always felt musical, without writing songs I would die. But I wanted to participate in some San Remo extra... I don't give up, never!!!

When you write your songs, you write them at a particular time of your life or write them thinking about something that has happened in the world (such as the fight against violence against women, children, the elderly and more)?

Marinis: If I am free from particular thoughts I go and write freewheel; if instead I have a theme I try to follow it... I usually have no patterns.

“I’m very tied to Ask what you want; it reminds me of San Remo, I usually have and I don’t regret... Boh I’m complex... however my life I’ve always felt musical, without writing songs I would die”

You have told in your texts love, beauty and happiness in a pop and fun key. How important are these values in your texts?

Marinis: Very important: they are the meaning of life. It is necessary to be always favorable, to love and to be self-ironic, to be happy. Happiness is also a choice.

The beginnings and passion

This year is special because we are going through a difficult time: you wrote a single that titles “It will be all right\\\\ I stay at home”. How did your initiative start by involving your colleagues? Do you think that music (since it is “universal”) can help society to act energetically and positively in this long difficult period?

Marinis: Music always helps! Everything will be well born at the beginning of quarantine, the first days of March. She was born as a social message, “I stay at home, you stay there, and so will all be fine.”

Then I got involved with my press office Mauro Caldera and my manager Pasquale Mammaro and Francesco Vidoni many friends artists, for the accuracy 70 and we made a video all together. Then came the decision to allocate the proceeds of the project to the hospital Dono Svizzero di Formia to donate 2 pulmonary respiratory humidifiers for the neonathology and pediatric ward.

With the patronage of the Italian National Cantanti and the Onlus Let's hold by hand.

This solidarity project is proof that music can do so much.

You have participated in the program “Tale what show”: what are the asperities you have faced during this beautiful route reaching excellent results, such as the imitation of Vasco Rossi?

Marinis: Such a Show I have experienced it well; I have enjoyed it so much and it is a real experience of life. I've studied so much every character. What I feared and suffered most, especially in finding the most similar right voice was j Ax.

“But I would have liked to participate in some extra San Remo... I don’t give up, never!!!”

What are the models you have inspired to become a songwriter?

Marinis: I had so many artists as a reference point and listened to so much music, as it is right that it is, but above all of the Italian songwriter, I would say everything!

What is the soundtrack of your professional personal journey?

Marinis: I don't have one: they're multi-sound columns!

The present and the projects

Who would you like to thank for your professional personal journey? What will your future projects be?

Marinis: God and my parents who sent me to study classical guitar as a child; my grandmother of Pozzuoli who as a child sang the songs in Neapolitan and many people who helped me and help me every day. You never end up thanking and it's right like this: alone you don't do anything.

I don't do many future projects, but I tell you songs, live tours and TV, even if I like to live one day at a time. I can’t wait to go to the Swiss Dono Hospital in Formia to deliver respiratory humidors for children.

I conclude this interview by mentioning one of the answers given by our Milanese singer-songwriter: “Important: they are the meaning of life. It is necessary to be always favorable, to love and to be self-ironic, to be happy. Happiness is also a choice.” I add that music is a real container of all the feelings we have and that we will want to outsource ourselves and others.

I believe that Davide De Marini, like Lucio Battisti, has been able to tell the beauty of feelings in a clean, elegant, moving and, also, cheerful way.
