The beginnings and passion
How did your artistic career begin? What was the world of cinema, theatre and television for you?
Pontrandolfo: “Let’s start with the television. Where everything happened almost by magic as in a fairy tale. An author of Mediaset noticed me on a TV show where I went to accompany my friend and asked me if I wanted to participate as a reader for the broadcast “Amici Libri”Aldo Busi. An afternoon appendix of Maria De Filippi’s “Friends” program, my dream began in Cinecittà studies.
Friends is a broadcast that I watched every Saturday afternoon, finding myself as a protagonist magic with the boys of the broadcast to read the books on Saturday afternoon together with Aldo Busi was a very strong emotion, which taught me to believe in dreams. After a year in Amici Libri I started studying diction, acting was also in America in New York for a master in multimedia direction.
But notoriety came by participating in the program “Uomini&Donne;” as courtier of Marco Montefiori. It is a program I owe a lot to because it gave me notoriety, followed by an audience of all ages. After “Uomini&Donne;” I made a motto: “the end of the bad moon will end in the midst of the stars”. In fact, my biggest dream was to go to “Good Sunday”, all the most famous vips participated in the program, at the time led by Stefano Bettarini and Paola Perego.
In fact, I managed to arrive at “Good Sunday” on Canale 5 as Bettarina; massaging in the episode for play and for challenge with the other Bettarine the muscles of the former footballer and former companion of Simona Ventura Stefano Bettarini. That was the program that thrilled me most, get off that stairway so much sought after by the Vip and simulate a live TV dinner at “Good Sunday” with Bettarini gave me the greatest emotion.
In my course I was also sent my cast for the Cristina Parodi Live program on La7. where I compared myself with the greats of TV, including Checchi Paone, Paolo Villaggio, Mariagrazia Cucinotta, Erico Ruggeri. Subsequently, he played a leading role in many fictions for famous local televisions, including the Sassanelli sisters, a revisitation of the Materasso sisters where I played Countess Marika. Many fictions for Telenorba, including my participation in the Mudù with Uccio De Santis.
Afterwards, the film came, with the film 2Spietati: where the protagonist was Alfredo Libassi (the protagonist of “Mary forever”). existential imprinters in which I played the role of secretary, with great actors, citing some: Alvaro Vitali, Sandra Milo, Antonella Ponziani etc.... “My mom plays rock” with Massimo Ceccherini. Short films including: “Finally a smile” by journalist Carlo Stragapede.
But the greatest satisfaction was interviewed Luca Medici alias the actor Checco Zalone. His comedy then gave me the opportunity to participate in the Zelig Lab I performed with my colleague in the role of the “Indignados” at the Empire Theatre. But the dreams do not end here I was a footballer for the national actresses led by Carmen Di Pietro, and I played against the Pupe and the Secchioni captained by Luca Tassinari.
Another great emotion was to interpret the mysterious character of the “Minimondo” to “Next another!” on channel 5 led by Paolo Bonolis who I love so much”.

You started as a show girl and as a model and also as a presenter. What are the goals to become a good presenter?
Pontrandolfo: “I started by tracing Miss Italy’s catwalks, coming to the regional final, and when Denny Mendez presenter of the event asked me what I wanted to do I replied: the television presenter and the journalist. A few years ago, in my television program for a strange coincidence I interviewed Denny Mendez, and so I realized I had realized that I had also realized this dream.
Afterwards, the conduct of important evenings with great artists including: Beppe Convertini in my “Canto libero show”, Raffaello Balzo, Alex Belli, with Max Cavallari dei Fichi d’India etc. But I didn't just realize the dream of becoming a publicist journalist. To become a good presenter, you have to study diction, to eliminate dialect cadences, to have a scissor language, to read aloud every day at least an hour a day, and to train on the field”.
The television author is the one who, together with the director, animates television. He is the one who writes the program, he chooses who leads the director the purposes of a television program. While the presenter is the television animator: in the sense that it entertains the audience, he tells every single event of the program. Can the relationship between the TV author and the presenter be strengthened more and more, or are there any discords between them?
Pontrandolfo: “There cannot be one without the other. They are absolutely two important components, which live in symbiosis, to allow the perfect success of the program itself.”
“The Pontradolfian theatre interprets it every day in real life, trying to remove the mask that recites the part desired by society, and thinks that this is the most arduous role to play by transforming it into the theater of the absurd”
If also an actress of theater and cinema. Among all the heterogeneous characters you played in your theatrical career, What is what you have left in the core? What are the attributes that characterize it?
Pontrandolfo: “In the film “Explained” where the protagonist was the actor Alfredo Libassi, as I said before, I played the role of a very bad female boss: Golia, he was exactly my antagonist, given my being always good and kind with everyone, that character really remained impressed.”
The public and the language of comedy
Do you feel like a comedian actress or a dramatic actress?
Pontrandolfo: “I believe that the real actress must be able to play a role both comic and dramatic, I can be both a comedian and dramatic actress.”
The Pirandellian theatre is based on the poetics of humor: the poetics of humor made a distinction between person/personality, stating that the mask recites the part dictated by society and that produces the verosimile. Your theatre (we call it ironically “Pontradolfiano”) is combined, even in the cinema, to the poetics of humor of the Pirandellian theatre?
Pontrandolfo: “The Pontradolfian theatre interprets it every day in real life, trying to remove the mask that recites the part desired by society, and thinks that this is the most difficult role to play by transforming it into the theatre of the absurd”.
“His comedy then took me to participate in the Zelig Lab I was performing with a colleague of mine in the role of the “Indignados”, at the Empire Theatre”
In the Commedia dell’arte, born with Plauto and Terenzio, the actor is the creator of the messincene and is sometimes in tune with the playwright. in theater and cinema, can the relationship between actor dramaturgo continue over time or are there discords?
Pontrandolfo: ” As I said before for a perfect success of the works, there must be a perfect symbiosis between the playwright and the actor. If the actor is a real professional and the playwright also, there should absolutely be no discord.”
What are the models you have inspired to become a great actress?
Pontrandolfo: “I love as presenter Maria De Filippi, she inspired me a lot. As actress Anna Magnani”.
Inspirations and references
What is your soundtrack of your professional personal path?
Pontrandolfo: “”Raimow” by Elisa, I like to see life always in color as a fantastic rainbow.”
Who would you like to thank for your professional personal journey? What will your future projects be?
Pontrandolfo: “I would like to thank myself, for all the strength, the determination of the tenacity that allowed me to arrive here, I never thanked myself and this was the right opportunity. There are so many future projects. One of which is very important on a famous national network. For now I can't anticipate anything, but follow me on my Facebook page and Marianna Pontradolfo fan club. Thank you Mariateresa and wishes for your successes.”
