The path of a life in music — Interview with Alessandro Canino

When did your artistic career begin? What's music for you?

Canino: My artistic career began in an early age around the age of 14, I began to make pianobars in the Florentine interiorland, transforming what I was studying into a real job. Music has always been fundamental in my life I've been breathing since I was born so I would say vital.

We have known you as the author of the famous success “Brutta”, song that you brought in the New proposals in Sanremo of 1992. How has the route changed from “Brutta” to today? What was the Sanremo Festival for you? Will you come back?

Canino: Many years have passed since 1992 Alessandro has grown he has made so many experience in the musical field not only, an important life path made of great moments of joy and other of pain, certainly everything has served to become the man who are today, the Festival has been for me a very important stage I have made 3, today it is a little changed everything, if they had to call me why not, it would be I believe a welcome return not only for me but also for those who support me.

In Sanremo we have seen many young people coming from the various talent shows. Do you think these talent shows are a box of conformity or a subject of study for young talents in order to arrive at the peak of success? What is the “talent” for you?

Canino: Over the years music and the way to make music has changed a lot before arriving you had to do the real thing, today with the advent of the Talents everything seems seemingly much easier, the boys become media characters after 3 episodes that are on TV, but it is not so that you get to a success, in success there is a preparation that can not give you only the TV, but you need firm commitment and many years of practice to become a true Artist.

Talent is something that you have innate you can not learn or buy, beyond the study and everything else you also need the artistic qualities to succeed.

We witnessed last year, in the talent show “The Voice”, to the phenomenon Sister Cristina. Well, can music be combined with a fideistic attitude and at the same time can it transmit Gospel messages?

Canino: Music has always been a vehicle to get to others, sometimes with the songs you get right to the heart of people so I think it should also be used to send messages of faith of hope.

In your opinion, the various bands, from boy bands to the various duets, how much have they influenced the adult youth people? What can they teach?

Canino: “Teaching....., perhaps the sense of union a union that if well used can become a great force, young people seek a way to follow someone who instructs him the healthy messages that are part of good education, the music to this great power I hope that those who learn to make music will have good in mind the messages to send to the various generations and I don’t just talk about stories that are told in the songs but a true and proper way to be, respect for all.”

When you write your songs, do you think of a particular moment of your life or do you compose them in circumstances that concern topical issues?

Canino: In both cases, they are emotions that arise from within or are influenced by the outside.

What are the models you inspired to become a famous songwriter?

Canino: My contaminations are multiple from Pino Daniele to Zucchero to continue with Bolton and Wonder and everything that helped me to grow artistically.

What is the soundtrack of your life and professional journey?

Canino: There is no real soundtrack because every day is a discovery in good or evil so with if it brings emotions to bind to different songs if we want.

Tell us about your album “I”?

Canino: This album has been written to four hands or along with my producer Rossano Eleuteri.It is 12 traces of life,12 moments,12 conditions that tell me about me, but as we have always supported, they speak a little of all of us, so IO is each of you.The topics dealt are many and each track carries with if an important emotional load.It is an album that leaves nothing to chance well cared for by the Rosgroup production of Rossano Eleuteri under all the musicians.

Who do you want to thank for your professional personal journey? What will your future projects be? When your next tour starts, so we can see you?

Canino: “To this first question you could answer in a thousand ways, but on all and all I would like to thank myself for the simple reason that whatever happens in your life certainly starts from our will, good or evil this is called a mature awareness, but I would also like to thank those who have left me artistically support me with so much love force giving me those smiles that maybe not always life gives us, I thank those who still believe in me with esteem and respect and respect.
