The word “bourgeois” has two meanings: 1) can have the meaning of a middle-sized town and a certain prevalence, with a predominantly commercial and agricultural economy; or, 2) an expansion of a city outside the walls.

Today we talk about Pescocostanzo, one of the most beautiful villages located in the mountain range of Apennines, in the province of the painful Aquila, in Abruzzo. Pescocostanzo is an Italian town of 1,196 inhabitants in the province of L’Aquila, in Abruzzo. It is one of the historical villages of our cultural and artistic panorama. But what characterizes Pescocostanzo, is not only the cultural and artistic aspect, but also the historical aspect; in fact it has a medieval urban context, therefore it is considered the most beautiful “borgo d’Italia”.

It is located in the region of the Altipiani major d’Abruzzo, a territory dominated mainly by pasture. Located from an altitude of 1400 m of altitude at the slopes of Monte Calvario ( 1743 m).

Pescocostanzo conquers the conca of the Fourth Great plateau. It belongs to the mountain community Alto Sangro and Alto delle Cinquemiglia.

What is the value that Pescocostanzo has? They are two: 1) Pescocostanzo is famous for the processing of lace and tombolo and 2) for the event of every end of August of the feast of the trades, where all the inhabitants of the village dress up from ancient workers and carry out, in every place of the village, the tasks of a time giving, to every tourist, some memory of the past. Pescocostanzo is also famous for its flowery village and for its entertainment and culture.

Many celebrities live here in Pescocostanzo, from Professor Sabatini (historical professor of the Italian language of the Academy of the Crusca, and every Sunday on Rai 1 he holds courses of linguistics), from journalist Emanuela Falcetti (historical journalist of the Rai and radio conductor of “Italy under investigation”), who praised the wonderful world of Pescocostanzo, and the professor and former president of our Puglia region. Francesco Schitulli, who loved this place as if it were his home.

I am also a town of this place since 1993 and for me it is a joy to come back there, because you breathe a fresh and clean air, then people are sunny then, last thing, you can relax enjoying whenever you want. I think each one of you can visit Pescocostanzo, because you will feel citizens of the world. I wish all of you to make a beautiful experience, because Pescocostanzo is the most beautiful village ever seen.
