When we write something, when we see with our eyes and listen to everything that surrounds us we think of something useful to transmit it in music. So do the singers, those who see, as writers of books, and broadcast them in sound. Battisti, Tenco, Concato, Bindi and other songwriters manage to convey our life and our society in sound. But there are other songwriters who can excite us by telling big stories. One of these was Franco Califano. Unforgettable that always manages to give a touch of magic in its unforgettable stanzas. One of the stanzas I loved about his artistic career was “Minuetto ” for Mia Martini.

“My heart recounts to you/it is the COURT NO/ MANI TUE/ INSTRUMENTS ON ME/ THAT YOU NEED TO EXPERT YOU..” In these “Minuet” stanzas, we understand, even today, how much force that we women have to fight who hurts us. I loved this song because I believe that Califano still managed today, despite being in a beautiful place, to give us strong emotions, and also wants to express universal love not the violent one. At 4 years after his death, Franco Califano will always be there in our memories and will remain one of the authors who, with Baptists, Daniele and Dalla, represented the song of author par excellence. He won't rule out his return, but his living memory is within us.
