The beginnings and passion
When did you start to uncover a ARTISTICAL TALENTY and what were your INIZI in the world of DISCOGRAPHIC PRODUCTION?
Maionchi: It all started with an insertion on the Corriere della sera, looking for a secretary for the press office. I liked the idea, so I went to an interview after which they hired me. As for the artistic sphere, I think Gianna Nannini helped me understand that I could be a good talent scout.

Maionchi: It is technology, that I agree or not counts little. We need to adapt to the novelties.
You were judge of X Factor, Amici and Italia’s Got Talent. As an observer, do you think talent shows turn artists into commercial products or offer a path of growth? What is talent for you?
Maionchi: The talents are mainly television, who forgets this makes confusion, and then the talents are not everything, there are so many good artists who come out thanks to the web

Maionchi: Having a breath and a great sense of mediation.

How do you recognize a talent? What qualities did you have in Nannini and Ferro?
Maionchi: Meanwhile, Tiziano discovered it with Salerno, Gianna went out only thanks to my stubbornness. Let's just say they both had an involving charm in their voice.
What differences did you find between the role of judge at X Factor and the teacher at Friends?
Maionchi: It's two different format-based broadcasts, I don't have a definite opinion on it.

How do you imagine the future of music and record production?
Maionchi: I'm optimistic, I hope that in the next few years I'm born a new Baptist, or Fossati or De Gregori.
What figures inspired you in your talent scout job?
Maionchi: I've never had models, I can only say that I have an infinite estimate for Caterina Caselli.
